Dear parishioners of Catholic Kajigaya Church,

The number of patients with novel coronavirus continues to grow.
Yesterday (March 28), Fr. Blanchfield and Parish Committee members had a meeting, and then Liturgy Group Conference was held, and we came to the following conclusion.
In order to ensure the health and life of the parish members, the schedule of masses and parish events/activities from April is as follows.
We’d like to ask for your understanding and cooperation.

1 There will be no Sunday masses, Holy Week services, first Friday masses during April.
2 There will be no parish events/activities in principle. The Parish Committee Conference is to be held on April 19.
3 Washing the branches scheduled on Friday, April 3 is cancelled.
4 The bazaar is cancelled because there is not enough preparation period and we cannot predict that infections will end by May. Whether or not to hold it in autumn is to be decided in the Parish Committee Conference.
5. Funerals are to be held and the anointing of the sick is to be administered while taking infection prevention measures. Please contact the office.
6. The office will be open as usual. The chapel will be open as usual.
7 The sacrament of penance can be received every Saturday, between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
8 “Seisho to Tenrei” (Sunday Liturgy) leaflets for the cancelled masses are placed at the chapel entrance hall. The latest Newsletters from the Diocese of Yokohama are also available. Please take them home with you.

A message from Fr. Blanchfield is to be sent around March 31 by Machikomi e-mail and postal mail.
If you have any questions, please contact Fr. Blanchfield.

Fr. Blanchfield
Parish Committee
